Terms and Conditions for Buyers
The terms for buying from a store that uses Moonbase, which buyers accept at checkout.
Written By Tobias Lønnerød Madsen
Last updated 12 October 2026. These are the terms buyers accept at checkout, shown at /terms-of-use on every store that uses Moonbase.
These terms govern your purchases from Moonbase through this store. Moonbase resells the products of the business that runs the store, as the merchant of record: you buy the product from us, and that business licenses it to you. By completing a purchase, you agree to these terms, so please read them before you buy. If you do not agree, please do not complete a purchase.
Introduction
Moonbase sells through two companies: Moonbase AS, a Norwegian limited liability company (company registration number 931 730 258) with its registered address at Utsikten 6, 3718 Skien, Norway, and Moonbase LLC, a U.S. limited liability company with its registered address at 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Throughout these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to whichever of them is named as the seller on your order; this is shown at checkout and on your receipt. Moonbase AS is the seller of every new order with a billing address outside the United States. A subscription's renewals are normally sold by the company that sold the subscription, but we may move a subscription to another Moonbase company. If we do, we will tell you before the first renewal it sells, and your rights under these Terms stay the same. The receipt for each order and each renewal names its seller.
These terms and conditions for buyers (the “Terms”) govern your purchase of the software or other digital product you buy through this website (the “Product”), where we act as the merchant of record as further explained below. When you place an order for a Product with us, you’re agreeing to these Terms.
“You” and “your” mean the person or entity placing the order. If you are acting on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you are authorized to act on their behalf.
The “Provider” is the business that makes the Product and runs the website you are buying from, as named on that website and in the User Agreement (as defined below).
Your agreement with us for the purchase of a Product (the “Agreement”) consists of your order and these Terms. If they conflict, your order takes priority.
Our role toward you
The Provider uses our services to sell its products, and we are an authorized reseller of them, acting as the merchant of record. This means that we conclude the sales contract with you, collect your payment, make the first delivery of the Product to you, handle sales tax and VAT, and handle refunds and chargebacks. We do not represent the Provider in any capacity.
Although you buy the Product from us, and our receipt names us as the seller, the Product is licensed to you by the Provider under the User Agreement described below. This is much like buying a product in a shop.
The Provider handles everything about the Product after your purchase, such as support, maintenance, uptime, bug fixes, updates and improvements. Contact the Provider to find out what it offers and on what terms; this is often described on its website or in the User Agreement. Emails about your order and your account with the store are sent in the Provider’s name, and replies go to the Provider.
After we have delivered the Product to you, the Provider is your first point of contact for anything about it, including complaints about defects. We remain the seller, and this does not limit the rights you have by law against us: if you are a consumer and the Product does not conform to the contract, you can make a claim against us, and we will work with the Provider to put it right.
User Agreement
A Product normally comes with its own license agreement, terms of use or similar terms that govern your use of it, between you and the Provider (the “User Agreement”).
You will need to accept the User Agreement with the Provider to use the Product, normally when you first install or use it. It is normally available on the Provider’s website or linked at checkout. Please read it before you order, and contact us if it is not available to you.
We are not a party to the User Agreement and are not responsible for either party’s compliance with it. We make no representations about your rights under it. Our Agreement with you is separate from the User Agreement, and neither is intended to affect the other.
The ordering process
It is your responsibility to check that the Product fits your needs and that your devices meet its minimum technical requirements.
You must follow our ordering process to buy a Product, and your Agreement is based on your order as shown at checkout and in our order confirmation. You can only choose the options offered in the ordering process.
To order, you give us the personal details needed to complete the purchase and confirm your order by clicking a button or similar on our page. This is your electronic signature and your confirmation that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms. You are responsible for the information you give us being correct.
An order is binding on us once you have paid and we have confirmed it. We confirm it by email to the address you give us. We may take a reasonable time to process your order, and we may reject an order without giving a reason; if we do, we will tell you and the order is cancelled. Check your order confirmation and tell us at once if anything in it is wrong.
If you want to change your order after submitting it, contact us as soon as possible. Until the Product has been made available to you, you may ask us to cancel the order, and we will tell you whether that is possible. If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, your statutory right of withdrawal, and when it ends, are set out in the “Right of withdrawal” section below.
We may cancel your order if there was an error in the price or other details of a Product that affects it. We will then contact you and offer to confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it with a full refund. If we cannot reach you, or you do not answer within 24 hours, we may treat the order as cancelled and tell you by email.
If you are a consumer, you may have other rights to cancel or withdraw under the law where you live. For consumers in the EU and EEA, these are described in the “Right of withdrawal” section below.
Product delivery and activation
Once you have paid and we have confirmed your order, you receive the Product through your account with the store, which our order confirmation links to, or as the Provider explains in that confirmation. We do not guarantee that the Product is available for download at all times, or that access to the download link or the Product will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.
It is your responsibility to download and install the Product. Depending on the Product, you may also receive a license key or similar that you must use to activate it. Most Products require you to accept a User Agreement with the Provider when you install them, and many also require an account or registration with the Provider.
We are not responsible if you do not receive what you need to download or activate the Product because you gave us incorrect, incomplete or outdated information.
Prices and payments
You pay the price of the Product and any other costs shown during the ordering process and in the order confirmation. Some subscriptions start with a free or reduced first period: unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription renews at the price shown at checkout.
Prices are in the stated currency, and include only the sales and import taxes stated, for the place of delivery stated in the order. Sales tax includes any tax, duty or fee payable to a governing body for the sale of a Product, including VAT, GST and similar taxes. Import tax includes any tax, duty or fee payable for its delivery into a jurisdiction. You are responsible for any other taxes, duties and fees you incur.
We charge you using the payment method you choose among those offered. If you pay by card or through a payment service provider, we take payment when you place your order.
If your payment method takes time to complete, we deliver the Product only once we have received your payment.
You agree to receive invoices and receipts from us electronically.
Please contact us before you ask your bank for a chargeback on a payment to us. If you dispute a legitimate charge without good reason, whether fraudulently or otherwise, we may refuse further orders from you. A chargeback we have not agreed to is treated as your cancellation of the order, and we or the Provider may revoke the license to the Product it paid for.
If you were charged sales tax on your order and are registered for sales tax in the country of purchase, you may be able to get the sales tax refunded under that country’s laws. To do so, contact us within 60 days of the purchase with a valid sales tax registration number for that country. We may deduct a fee for processing the refund.
We make refunds to the payment method you used for the order.
Subscriptions
Some Products are sold as subscriptions, which renew automatically at the end of each period (for example monthly or yearly) until cancelled. The price of each renewal, and how long any introductory price or discount lasts, is shown at checkout. We charge each renewal to the payment method you used, which we keep with our payment provider for that purpose.
If a renewal payment fails, your subscription stops being active and we email you a link to pay with another payment method. Depending on the Product, we may try the payment again during a grace period set by the Provider, and devices already activated keep working until it ends.
You can cancel a subscription at any time, in your account with the store or through the store’s website. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Apart from your statutory rights and the case described in “If a store closes” below, we do not refund the part of a period that is left when you cancel.
The Provider may change the price or contents of a subscription. We email you when it does. A new price applies from your next renewal, so you can cancel before then if you do not agree, but a product removed from a bundle subscription is removed straight away. Changes to these Terms apply to renewals that take place after the new version is published on this website.
If a store closes
A Provider may stop selling through us, or we may stop working with it. Its store then closes, and from that day:
- you can no longer sign in to your account with the store, download Products from it, or activate a license on a new device. A license already activated on a device keeps working there where the Product’s software supports it, a subscription’s license at most until the end of the period it was issued for;
- any subscription you have through the store is not renewed, and ends at the end of the period you have paid for. If you could not use what you paid for in that time, for example because the subscription gave you downloads or updates, contact us and we will refund you to your payment method; and
- the Provider remains responsible for the Product under the User Agreement, and you can contact it about continued access.
We recommend that you keep copies of the files and license keys you have bought. You can still contact us about your orders after a store closes, including if a Product you bought outright stops working because its store has closed: if you are a consumer, your statutory rights against us as the seller apply.
Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU/EEA)
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the wider European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day on which the contract is concluded, which for the digital content and services sold through us is the day we confirm your order.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform the seller named on your order (see the Introduction above for our registered details) of your decision by an unequivocal statement, for example a letter sent by post to the registered address of that entity or an email to support@moonbase.sh. You may use the model withdrawal form set out below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient that you send your communication concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
If you withdraw, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed of your decision. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment that you used for the initial transaction, and you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
Exception for digital content and immediate access. Most Products sold through us are digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium, and delivery begins immediately after purchase. Under applicable law you lose your right of withdrawal once delivery has begun where you have (a) given your prior express consent to delivery beginning during the 14-day withdrawal period, and (b) acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. We ask you to give this consent and acknowledgment at checkout, before payment, and we confirm it to you on your receipt. Because we deliver immediately and cannot hold a Product back, our checkout does not let you complete a purchase without that consent: if you do not wish to give it, please do not complete the order. If a purchase is completed without your consent, you keep your right of withdrawal.
Where a Product is a digital service, such as access to an online service, rather than digital content, you can withdraw within the 14 days even after the service has started at your request, but we may deduct an amount in proportion to what was supplied before you told us of your withdrawal. Once the service has been fully performed, you can no longer withdraw.

Intellectual property rights
Your rights to the Product are set out in the User Agreement. You receive a license to use the Product, not ownership of it, subject to the limits and conditions in the User Agreement.
Your purchase does not transfer any intellectual property rights between you and us.
Personal data
We process your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, available at https://<store>/privacy-policy. In short: as the seller, we are the controller of the record of your purchase, your payment and the evidence we keep for tax and consumer law. Your account with the store, your licenses and activations, and the emails the store sends you are the Provider’s, which we process on its behalf, and the Provider’s own privacy policy applies to them. We share the details of your purchase with the Provider.
If you give us personal data about another person, you represent that you are allowed to do so.
Limitations of liability
We do not guarantee that a Product will meet your needs or expectations, or that it is free of errors. We are not liable if we fail to comply with these Terms because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We are not responsible for the Provider’s compliance with the User Agreement.
Your account with the store and similar services we provide are provided “as is” and “as available”, and we do not guarantee that your access to them will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of our services or purchase of Products, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill or other intangible losses. Our total liability for a Product bought through us is limited to the price you paid for it, excluding taxes. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Amendments
We may amend these Terms at any time by publishing a new version on this website. The Terms that apply to an order are those in force when you placed it. For subscriptions, changes apply to renewals as described under “Subscriptions”.
Communications
You agree to receive communications from us electronically, concerning the Agreement and our services. Notices, documents and other communications provided electronically count as written. You also agree to the use of electronic signatures.
Communications sent to the email address you gave us count as delivered when sent. It is your responsibility to make sure our emails are not blocked by spam filters or similar.
Send communications to us to our customer service team at support@moonbase.sh, with your order number and the email address you bought with. We do not have to act on communications sent through other channels, unless these Terms say otherwise.
Transfer of rights
We may transfer our rights and obligations under the Agreement to another Moonbase company, as described in the Introduction. You may not transfer yours without our prior written consent.
Governing law and disputes
Where Moonbase AS is named as the seller on your order, these Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of Norway. Where Moonbase LLC is named as the seller on your order, they are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. In either case the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded from application.
If you are not a consumer, any dispute shall be finally settled by arbitration by the Rules of the Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Institute of the Oslo Chamber of Commerce in force at any time.
This arbitration clause does not apply to consumers. If you are a consumer, your dispute is not subject to arbitration and you keep the rights described under “Statutory rights” below, including the right to go to court.
Either party may seek immediate judicial intervention before any competent court to obtain provisional or injunctive relief.
Statutory rights
No part of these Terms is intended to limit any compulsory statutory rights or protections that may apply to you under applicable laws, such as consumer protection laws.
If you are a consumer, the law chosen under “Governing law and disputes” does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
If you are a consumer residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to bring any disputes arising from or connected to your Agreement before the competent courts of your country of residence.
Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us at support@moonbase.sh with your order number and the email address used for the purchase, so that we can try to resolve the matter directly. For issues with the Product itself after delivery, the Provider is the first point of contact, as described under “Our role toward you” above.
Moonbase AS, which is established in Norway, is the seller of every new order with a billing address outside the United States, and of some orders with a billing address in the United States. The receipt for each order and each renewal names its seller. Where it is the seller, the body competent to handle a complaint against us out of court is the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet), at www.forbrukertilsynet.no. Forbrukertilsynet mediates complaints against traders established in Norway, and may refer a case onward to the Norwegian Consumer Disputes Commission (Forbrukerklageutvalget) for a decision where it falls within that body’s statutory competence. These two bodies are the statutory route for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes in Norway. Both charge a case-processing fee, set as a proportion of the Norwegian court fee (rettsgebyr), and the current amounts are published on Forbrukertilsynet’s website.
Alongside that statutory route, we have not appointed, and are not required to appoint, any private or voluntary alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. Forbrukertilsynet is therefore the body to approach, rather than a scheme of our own choosing.
If you live in the EEA outside Norway, your national European Consumer Centre can also assist you free of charge with a cross-border complaint, and you can find yours at www.eccnet.eu. The ECC-Net centres give advice and help you take a complaint forward; they do not decide cases themselves, so contacting one does not replace Forbrukertilsynet or the courts.
Where Moonbase LLC is named as the seller, the Norwegian bodies above are not competent, and the routes open to you are those set out under “Governing law and disputes” above. This depends on the billing address you give us rather than on where you live, so if you live in the EEA and pay with a United States billing address, you may be contracting with Moonbase LLC.
